The scholarship is based on a rigorous criteria that includes:

– Parish, school and community service
– An essay on the challenges faced as a young Catholic in today’s society
– Letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, counselors, etc.
– Academic record
– Active participation and good standing in our Squires or Roses Circle (Note: active participation in the Squires or Roses is not a mandatory requirement, however, it will be weighed into the evaluation process)

Application Requirements:

1) You must be an active member and parishioner of Saint Kateri parish
2) Be scheduled to graduate from high school this coming June and have been accepted into an accredited junior college, college, technical, or other post-secondary school
3) Must provide a quality, completed application with required typewritten essay. Please use additional sheets as needed. You are strongly encouraged to use the electronic form which will be available on both the parish website and the Knights websites.
4) Include at least two or more letters of recommendation, each in a separate envelope.
5) Have your school submit an official copy of your transcript directly to Nicholas Cutrone, Scholarship Chairman, Saint Kateri Parish, 427 Stanhope Road, Sparta, NJ 07871. (Note, transcript must arrive by the same deadline as the other application components)
6) The application form, required essay, letters of recommendation, and high school transcript must be received no later than Friday, May 28th, 2021, to Nicholas Cutrone, Scholarship Committee Chairman, c/o Saint Kateri Parish, 427 Stanhope Road, Sparta, NJ 07871. There is no exception to this deadline. Please clearly list your email address on the application. Upon receipt of your application you will receive email confirmation that the package has been received. If you have not received such email confirmation, please email Mr. Cutrone.
